Priced at $149.99 (approximately Rs. 12,500) for its 4GB + 64GB configuration, the Moto G Play (2024) is available in a single Sapphire Blue hue. The US version of the press release states that it will be available for purchase on February 8 at Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Motorola.com, with additional retailers to be announced later. From January 26 to January 31, the phone will be sold in Canada.

With a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 6.5-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the recently released Moto G Play (2024) boasts impressive specs. However, you can’t get a phone for under $150 without making some compromises. Motorola removed the depth and macro sensors from the 2023 model, leaving just one camera on the rear of the phone. In this day and age, the Moto G Play (2024) is notable for lacking 5G connectivity. Months after the release of Android 14, the phone comes pre-installed with Android 13. Usually, Moto G phones receive only one software update, so when Android 15 releases later this year, it won’t be available for them.
However, if those features aren’t absolutely necessary for you, the Moto G Play (2024) could be a compelling choice at under $200. Your experience with the camera should have improved at least from a year ago.
